You will need:
1 - 12x12 sheet of Cardstock
1- 7-1/8 x 7-1/8 piece of Cardstock
Paper Cutter
Bone Folder
Adhesive
Designer Paper
Stampin' Up! has wonderful Designer Paper to choose from on pages 172-175 in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog. By using Designer Paper you can coordinate your entire project.
Score your 12 x 12 sheet of Cardstock at 4" on all four sides.
When finished, you will have 9 equal squares.
Next, on each side, cut the left score mark only up to the next score line. There are only 4 cuts - one cut per side.
On the inside of the box, adhere your designer paper to each square. I cut my designer paper into 3-3/4 squares.
Turn your sheet over and do the outside of the box by adhering Designer Paper to the squares that will show, which will be the center outside squares.
Fold your box by placing your loose flap to the inside all the way around. Do not Adhere! Your box is meant to be open with pictures in the squares.
For the lid of the box, use your 7-1/8" square and score at
1-1/2" on each side.
Adhere Designer Paper (3-3/4" square) to the Center Top.
Adhere Designer Paper to each of the 4 sides ( 3-3/4" x 1-1/4").
I use Sticky Tape on the corners because the lid needs to be sturdy as it will be handled often.
Fold your corners to the inside all the way around and adhere. This is done the same way as the Base of the box.
Decorate and embellish your box. You can now add pictures to your squares!
If you are using any 3-D embellishments, as I did with the half pearls, be sure to place them on an area that laps over on the inside to avoid bulk when closing your box.
I attached a scalloped edge strip to the inside of the Lid. This will also increase the durability of your lid.
